Theater Discourse

one of the archetypal forms of discourse from the Kommunikologie in there is an acoustically amplifying concave wall behind a speaker, who faces outwards towards an audience. Examples for this kind of dialogue are: theatre, concert hall, classroom. (p.21), but also the the so-called bourgeois family with the mother who sends outward and the father who flies through like a comet. (p.37) This dialogue form is easily reversible, and Flusser encourages the practice of exchanging speaking and listening roles. Thus though it starts off as a frontal, hegemonic form, it should evolve into a dialogue of rapidly rotating roles, and rapid responses, which Flusser associates with Responsibility (Verantwortung).
